2012-2013 Fly-In Dates

DECEMBER 2-4, 2012

The deadline to apply has already passed.

FEBRUARY 17-19, 2013

The deadline to apply has already passed.

Please look here August 2013 for 2013-2014 fly-in dates. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Emily Thayer at (507) 933-7676 or ethayer@gustavus.edu.

We want you to visit Gustavus!  It’s the best way to make your college choice. After you walk around and talk to a couple of Gusties, you’ll get the feeling that you belong. This could be your new home.  Gustavus is what a college campus should look and feel like. See for yourself.

In addition to setting up your own visit day or coming to campus for a visit event, we've set aside two* weekends for visitors from out-of-state.  This way, you can interact with other prospective Gusties at the same time that you meet and talk with current Gustavus students.

Our   fly-in program is intended to help students when the travel costs would be prohibitive. If we're not able to assist you and you can still afford to travel to St. Peter, you are very welcome to visit on these weekends-- or any other time.

For those who live more than 400 miles from St. Peter, Minnesota, the fly-in program would include:

  • the cost of the flight
  • transportation to and from the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport
  • overnight accommodations with current Gustavus students
  • meals in the Gustavus Market Place
  • sitting in on classes
  • meeting with professors, coaches or conductors.

Students interested in our fly-in program should:

  1. be high school seniors,
  2. complete an Application for Admission by the deadline listed next to the fly-in dates below,
  3. complete the    fly-in program application and
  4. be approved by our office for the program.

Accommodations for families:

Our program is designed to provide an all-inclusive opportunity to explore our campus: covering expenses, planning travel and transportation, and so on for prospective students. Parents are more then welcome to visit as well! However, we are only able to extend the services of our Fly In Program to prospective students. Accompanying parents are asked to be responsible for their own expenses, travel planning, and accommodations. If they would like, we invite them to join their student on a personalized campus tour, partake in a counselor conversation, as well as enjoy a meal in our dining facilities. For those who wish to accompany a prospective student, there are many hotel and restaurant options in St. Peter and the surrounding area.
